A big confidence boost for the Jets, who hammered Melbourne City four-nil in a pre-season friendly in Ballarat today.

City was missing Tim Cahill and Bruno Fornaroli, and Newcastle made it pay – Morten Nordstrand scoring a brace to seal the win.
