NO DECISION ON LOGGING TRIAL NEAR COFFS HARBOUR

State Environment Minister Rob Stokes says no decision has been made on whether a cable logging trial will go ahead in forests west of Urunga and Nambucca Heads.

The Greens have challenged the Baird Government to publicly abandon the steep slope cable logging plan before the state election.

Coffs Harbour Greens Candidate Craig Christie says, “Cable logging is just a risky practice and the Greens certainly don’t support that and we put it to the Nationals to oppose this experiment in our forests.”

Labor says it would stop the trial and permanently ban cable logging in forests.
