GOLD COASTERS ‘TAKE A HIKE’ FOR AUTISM
Dozens of dedicated hikers are nursing sore feet tonight, after making a 40-kilometre trek from Tweed Heads to The Spit, to raise funds and awareness for autism.
More than 30 people participated in AEIOU’s “Take a Hike” marathon walk, aiming to raise $75,000 for families with autistic children.
“It’s really nice for them to be able to have support behind them from community members.”
The walkers were up at 4am – but they say it was definitely worth it.
