Locals say some “oddly” placed utility nodules at Broadbeach are an accident waiting to happen.
The nodules are scattered along the path beside the Highway, opposite Pacific Fair.
Pedestrians are forced to step around them… Or potentially, stumble over them in the dark.
“Pretty poor design I’d say, probably didn’t worry us just then but if you’ve got a lot of people , a lot of traffic I’m sure it’ll cause a problem.”
“It just seems ridiculous, you don’t do that, do you, normally.”
The explanation – the path must be a certain distance from road, while the nodules must be a certain distance from the property line.
It came about when Goldlinq redid the path after Light Rail construction, and there are no plans to change it.
