WORKER KILLED NEAR BOGGABRI

A man has died while working in the Leard State Forest in north-western New South Wales.

He was working 20 metres above the ground at a mine near Boggabri when he collapsed this morning.

It’s unclear how the 35-year-old died.

“The patient’s died, it’s now in the hands of WorkCover and police,” an ambulance spokeswoman said.

Workcover and the Department of Primary Industries will investigate the death.

The Leard State Forest has been the site of several anti-mining protests in recent years.
