BOGGABRI MINE FINED $15,000

Tarrawonga Coal has been fined $15,000 for breaching environment protection conditions at its mine near Boggabri.
The New South Wales Environment Protection Authority says the company’s latest annual return showed it had breached its yearly limit for coal production.
The company’s licence limits production to two million tonnes per year, however the return revealed it has produced more than 2.1 million tonnes.
The EPA will continue to monitor activities at the mine site.
