A woman and toddler have been taken to John Hunter Hospital, following a crash in Lake Macquarie overnight.
Emergency services were called to Anzac Parade at Toronto at about 8.30, where it’s understood a hatchback crossed onto the opposite side of the road and hit an oncoming vehicle.
The female driver of the hatchback was trapped inside the car for about 40 minutes.
Once freed, she was taken to hospital with a suspected leg injury.
The young boy was also taken as a precautionary measure.
The driver of the other car was treated at the scene.
