ALSTONVILLE FC RECEIVES NSW SPORT COMMUNITY AWARD
The Alstonville and District Football Club has been awarded the New South Wales Minister’s Sport Volunteer Management Award, just one of two accolades presented in Sydney yesterday.
The club was recognised for its strong culture, in helping support new and existing volunteers.
“One of the volunteer virtues in the community has been people wanting to help anyone like a parent who says I’ll help coach, how do we support that how do we put together a manual of ideas, how do we make a little video, a usb of ideas, practicle things that they can do.”
The volunteers’ behind-the-scenes work has helped the club grow to more than 225 players.
