It was a family affair at Sawtell Fire station today, with locals coming out for a day of free activities as part of New South Wales Fire and Rescue’s open day.
Firefighters used the event to warn people about the dangers of fire around the home.
“It’s face to face communication with our firefighters, about fire safety and such things like making sure they’ve got working smoke alarms, they’re not overloading powerpoints and be aware when cooking in kitchens.”
And of course the day wasn’t complete without some fun in the fire engine.
