Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has been appointed to the Legislative Assembly Committee on transport and infrastructure.
Mr Anderson will act as a voice for regional areas on issues including roads, tourism, events and the arts.
He says his main priority is Tamworth rail.
“That daily service from Tamworth to Sydney by rail, whether that’s via Newcastle or wherever it may be at the moment, we now have a formal process in place with the CEO of New South Wales Trains Rob Mason.”
A study will be undertaken to determine whether a daily service is achievable.
