The owner of Newcastle’s harbour-front Crowne Plaza has unveiled amended plans for an eight storey hotel and conference centre to be built behind the existing hotel.
The proposed $24-million building would involve the demolition of derelict buildings on Wharf Road and house a function centre, restaurant, bar and hotel between nightclub, Argyle House and the existing eight storey apartments.
The revised plans scrapped 44 hotel rooms and one storey of the initial proposal.
The plans will be on display until next week, before they front the Joint Regional Planning Panel.
