A male cleaner suffered lacerations to his neck, during an attempted armed robbery at a takeaway shop at Wallsend in Newcastle last night.
Just after 10 o’clock, the man was confronted by a knife-wielding bandit, who had his face covered.
After being attacked, the cleaner was helped by a female colleague… and both managed to fend off the would-be robber.
He escaped empty-handed, and was last seen running south on Cardiff Road.
