REPAIR CREWS WORK TO FIX BURST WATER MAIN

Repair crews have spent the day working to replace a burst water main at Mayfield.
The pipe suddenly cracked yesterday afternoon, sending thousands of litres of water into Dangar Park and surrounding areas.
It also caused low water pressure and discolouration in tap water as far away as The Junction.
Hunter Water says it was safe to drink and the discolouration was simply caused by movement of sediment.
