UMINA BEACH HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE
Less than three weeks out from Christmas, a Umina Beach family’s been left with little more than the clothes on their backs, after their house went up in flames early this morning.
Fire fighters rushed to the McEvoy Avenue property at around 1 AM, but it was already well-alight.
It took more than three hours to extinguish the blaze, which reduced the single-story building to a charred shell.
It’s understood the home was being rented at the time, and the tenants escaped without injury.
The cause of the fire is still unknown but it’s not being treated as suspicious.
