Fairfax Media has flagged major changes for its Hunter titles, including the Newcastle Herald.
Under the proposal, editorial production work for the Herald, Newcastle Star, Port Stephens Examiner, Lakes Mail and Myall Coast Nota will be shifted to New Zealand.
The move will see 41 jobs go – Fairfax says no reporting or photographic positions will be affected.
