MAN FOUND GUILTY OF TANILLA DEAVES MURDER

Warren Ross has been found guilty of murdering two-year-old Central Coast toddler Tanilla Warwick Deaves.

The verdict was handed down this afternoon in the Supreme Court.

Ross shouted abuse at the jury which had deliberated on the verdict for a day and a half. He broke down in tears as the jury left the court.

Ross had pleaded not guilty to the toddler’s murder at her Watanobbi home in August 2011.

Donna Deaves, Tanilla’s mother was jailed earlier this year for a minimum of nine years for manslaughter on the grounds of criminal negligence.

The court heard Ross had been going out Tanilla’s mother Donna Deaves for a few months when he started to toilet train her.

He forced her to run laps and hit her with implements including an electrical cord.

Ross will be sentenced at a later date.
