It appears the Police Minister has intervened, to speed up the approval process for Lake Macquarie’s new $5-million police headquarters at Belmont.
The plans will now go before the Joint Regional Planning Panel on December 12.
It comes less than a month after a panel spokesman said they’d be assessed after the New Year.
The Minister announced the project as shovel ready 20 months ago.
It then went unfunded for eight months, and was further delayed when Lake Macquarie Council had concerns over access.
