A spokesperson from Glencore’s Ravensworth open cut operations says the safety and welfare of employees is a priority, as investigations continue into the death of a female contractor at the weekend.
The employee was killed on Saturday night when the vehicle she was travelling in collided with a dump truck.
A spokesperson says operations will resume at the mine in a staggered manner.
“We are making sure we have support services in place to help them through a very difficult time,” they said.
