Michael Allan Jacobs the killer of police officer Senior Constable David Rixon, has been sentenced to life in prison.
Senior Constable Rixon’s widow Fiona, his children and parents, NSW police minister Michael Gallacher, assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch and a large group of officers attended the Supreme Court proceedings in Sydney.
Before sentencing, Justice Richard Button described at length the seriousness of murdering a police officer, over and above seriousness of killing a civilian.
