VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE AWARD FOR FLAGSTAFF RESTORATION

The work of volunteers from the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum has been recognised, with the restoration of the historic flagstaff at South West Rocks winning a state award.

The restoration, which was completed in October last year, has won the Collection Management – Volunteers award at the 2013 Imagine Award ceremony.

The Pilot Station Complex at Horseshoe Bay was built in 1902 and is one of only two across the state that remains intact.
