Farrer’s First XI have moved on to round four of the state Combined High Schools 40 over cricket knockout, after defeating Oxley High School today.
It was both sides first game of the tournament, after opposition teams previously forfeited.
Batting first, Farrer looked rusty, losing an early wicket.
But they regained their composure, reaching a total of 172
Tamworth Senior Country Shield representative Matt Everett opened the batting for Oxley, scoring a quick fire 40.
Toby Fox contributed 60, but a middle order collapse saw Oxley all out for 159 in the 38th over.
