PULMONARY HYPERTENSION STUDY

It’s hoped tweaking a long-established medical test, will improve the process of diagnosing patients with pulmonary hypertension.
Griffith University researchers have added a mask to the Six Minute Walk Test, to better analyse raised pressure in blood flow.
A common symptom of the disease is shortness of breath.
“By walking and getting suddenly breathless, particularly walking up a flight of stairs – most people the way they pick up the disease is suddenly they become breathless in those sort of activities.”
Unfortunately the disease reduces life-span, which is why early diagnoses is crucial.
