MAN RECOVERS AFTER BECOMING IMPALED ON A TREE BRANCH

A man has undergone surgery after becoming impaled on a tree branch in Upper Orara yesterday afternoon.
The 43-year-old was riding his trail bike along Dingo Creek Road, when he rode over the branch, which went through his thigh.
Paramedics worked to shorten the two metre long branch before taking him to Coffs Harbour Hospital.
He was later airlifted to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
