A 53-year-old man remains in hospital after being attacked with a machete, in a violent home invasion in Dondingalong yesterday afternoon.
At about three o’clock, three men broke into his Pipers Creek Road home, before covering his face with a towel and assaulting him until he lost consciousness.
The men, described only as caucasian, were armed with a sword, machete and knife.
The victim was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital suffering head and internal injuries, as well as lacerations.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
