The price of a ferry trip between Newcastle and Stockton could soon rise, following the release of a draft to increase the journey by 10 cents.
Under The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s (IPART) draft, the maximum fare charged by Newcastle Buses and Ferries for ferry services would rise 4%, to $2.60.
IPART attributes the rise to costs of providing the service.
Any changes in ferry fares would be effective from January 5 next year.
