The University of Newcastle is one of the recipients of a nation-wide heritage fund.
The university received $4,000 to help preserve a collection of works by freelance illustrator Margaret Senior, as part of the 2013 Community Heritage Grants.
A total of 78 grants worth more than $400,000 were awarded to community groups, to assist in the preservation of community-owned heritage collections.
The Great Lakes Historical Co-operative Society Ltd and the Macleay River Historical Society Inc together received over $10,000 for preservation works.
