HALF A MILLION ANNOUNCED FOR BUSHFIRE RELIEF AND RECOVERY
The Salvation Army has announced half a million dollars to aid bushfire relief and recovery.
It comes as volunteers continue to provide food and care to those affected at evacuation centres on the Central Coast, Raymond Terrace, the Blue Mountains and Lithgow.
The Salvation Army’s Major Jeff Winterburn says they’ve received a lot of support from the community.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the level of support for The Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal, which has already raised more than $300,000… and we’d like to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone who’s donated,” he said.
The charity is encouraging people to give cash donations to continue the aid relief.
