In Newcastle cricket, wins today for Wests and Merewether in round two of the SCG Cup.
At Townson Oval, Toronto was on target for a competitive total, with Michael Muller and Oliver Sims pushing the score past 100.
The introduction of Harry Colbert did the trick for Merewether, as he knocked over Sims.
One over later he sent Aaron Gray back to the pavilion, caught by Dan Morton.
Muller made 41 in Toronto’s total of 203, but Merewether chased that down.
