MOTORISTS REMINDED TO PLAN AHEAD AND TAKE CARE ON THE ROADS THIS LONG WEEKEND

Those on the road this long-weekend have been advised to plan ahead and take care when travelling on the highway, with increased traffic expected.

Weekend work on major building sites along the Pacific Highway will be temporarily suspended to ease congestion.

Special care should be taken in upgrade areas around Herons Creek, from Sapphire to Woolgoolga, from Tintenbar to Ewingsdale and near Ballards Road south of Urunga.

Operation Slow Down, the annual October long-weekend traffic-enforcement campaign, will run until midnight on Monday. Drivers face double demerit points for traffic offences.
