Newcastle detectives have released security camera video of a disturbing assault and armed robbery at a newsagency at Georgetown.
At around six on Thursday morning, a man entered the business, at first pretending to buy an item.
But then seizing the opportunity to bail up the owner behind the counter, and rifle through the cash register.
Having grabbed cash, the bandit made a final lunge at the owner with a pair of scissors, before fleeing.
