  1. A good report on voluntary euthanasia and Aina Ranke’s terrible illness. I think it’s a pity to conflate dying with dignity with suicide. If people are concerned about end of life decisions it would be best to refer them to the organisation Dying with Dignity.

  2. Thanks for the feedback Sally. You’re right. It is a really grey area for the media. We sought advice from a Federal Government-funded group which specifically deals with reporting such issues, and it recommended the story be supported by contact numbers for the agencies published, to protect the most vulnerable, and the reaction that they could have had to what was in the story.
