WINDS CAUSE HAVOC IN THE HUNTER – ALMOST 7000 HOMES WITHOUT POWER
Winds have caused havoc across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens, with almost 7000 homes and businesses left without power.
In Mayfield, its force ripped a TV antenna from a roof, which then landed onto power lines, cutting electricity to 2000 properties.
In Carrington, lines were brought down at around one o’clock, leaving around 600 dwellings in the suburb and nearby Wickham and Maryville without power.
There are currently 1200 houses without power in Islington and Shoal Bay and 1700 in both Fennel Bay and Bolton Point.
