There’s been a close call for a pilot after his light plane overturned on the runway at Ballina airport this morning.
The four-seater plane was hit by a gust of wind on landing causing it to flip onto its roof.
The pilot was the only person onboard, and was taken to Ballina hospital as a precaution.
Police managed to put the plane back on its wheels and the runway was reopened without any delays.
The incident has been referred to air safety investigators.
