POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION AFTER ASSAULT

Police are appealing to the public for information after a Central Coast man was assaulted and robbed by a group of men.

Just before two o’clock yesterday afternoon, a 28-year-old man was walking along Wyong Road, near the intersection of Canntree Road at Chittaway Bay, when a car stopped near him.

Police say four men, one armed with a knife and another with a pair of knuckledusters, then assaulted the man, before taking cash from his wallet

They then drove off in a black vehicle, which is described as being either a Holden Commodore or a Ford Falcon, with green P-plates.

The injured man walked to nearby shops, where an ambulance was called.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Wyong Hospital with a cut on his left ear and soreness to his chest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wyong Police Station on 43566099
