A statue honouring two country music greats will be unveiled in Tamworth on January 24 next year, during the country music festival.
Slim Dusty and Joy McKean will be immortalised in Peel Street, joining Smoky Dawson.
A $5000 donation from the Wests Entertainment Group as well as funding from all three tiers of government helped reach the fundraising target of $180,000.
Sculptor Tanya Bartlett has been commissioned to create the statue of the husband and wife.
