Newcastle trainer Kris Lees will unearth German Cups contender Salon Soldier in next week’s Group 3 Cameron Handicap at Broadmeadow.
The stallion was one of 24 nominations today, with the Paul Perry-trained Ghost Protocol the only local entered for Thursday’s $175,000 Newcastle Cup.
Irish import Ghost Protocol, which is also entered for the Melbourne Cup, was an eye-catching second at Rosehill last start.
