CHAOTIC SCENES ON ELECTION DAY

Chaotic scenes on election day for both Kevin and Tony Abbott, each swamped by angry protestors.
Kevin Rudd in Brisbane
The prime minister’s last minute decision to change the location of his polling booth in Brisbane backfired when media crews were refused entry by an unprepared AEC official. During a five minute wait protesters began hurling abuse at Mr Rudd on the federal government’s so-called Papua New Guinea Solution asylum seeker policy.
Tony Abbott in Sydney
Meanwhile in Sydney, Tony Abbott could barely move in a crowd crush of people screaming “go away Tony”. He was ushered back to his car in five minutes, after several protesters were forced to leave.
