  5. I was at the Speers Pt Park playground yesterday with my daughter when this happened not far from where we were standing. Made my heart skip a few beats. After the ambulance was called I had to take my little girl away as she was sobbing hysterically. Have been thinking about this little boy all night. My daughter has been asking how he’s doing. Is there any update on his condition? Just wanted to send our best wishes little man! Thinking of you and your family!! XX

  6. Our family was at the park yesterday for my granddaughters 1st Birthday, my 8 year old son saw the little boy fall & was extremely worried, upset & constantly talking about him since. We thought he was paralyzed but from.the report it looks as tho it was precautionary measures – thank god. Our kids were accompanied by adults at all times but it did take sometime to locate the boys parent as he was busy with his 2 other kids. An unfortunate accident but just please spend the time to watch your child playing on these pieces of equipment as this could’ve been a death situation. I hope the little boy & his father and siblings are getting over it and they learn to be a bit more aware of their kids playing on equipment correctly and not alone or with their other siblings as they arnt the adults & shouldn’t be made or feel responsible.

  7. How does a 4 year old boy fall 6 meters at a park? Is there anything their that’s 6 meters tall? Was he up a tree? Where was the supervision? Didn’t anyone go ‘little kid Really high, better stop that’

  8. To the people who have been concerned about my son he is home and safe, no serious injuries thank you for the well wishes and support it has been a very scary time for our family but he is going to be just fine we are very lucky thank you again.

  9. So glad to hear such wonderful news, we have all been so worried for him and the family. These things happen so quickly, and have such unpredictable outcomes.

I think it would be prudent of the council to add some safety barriers immediately to prevent adventurous children from accessing areas such as the outside of the slide that are unsafe. I have seen other playgrounds where the slide is completely encased in its own tower.
