NEWCASTLE WINGER TO REPLACE HAYNE

NSW star Jarryd Hayne has been ruled out of the State of Origin Series decider and replaced on the wing by Newcastle’s James McManus.

Hayne was ruled out by team doctor Nathan Gibbs today after undergoing a medical check on his hamstring injury.

He hadn’t played since tearing his hamstring while turning out for Parramatta just 48 hours after playing a starring role in Origin I on June 5.

McManus was named in the 20-man Blues’ squad yesterday and will return to the origin cauldron for the first time since 2009.
