DRIVER PLEADS GUILTY TO SCHOOL BOY’S DEATH

A Queensland truck driver has pleaded guilty to causing a crash that killed a nine-year-old school boy in the Hunter Valley last year.

34-year-old Daniel Ronald Hennessy faced Newcastle Local Court this morning, pleading guilty to dangerous driving occasioning death.

Nine-year-old Harry Dunn died when Mr Hennessy’s truck collided with the boy’s school bus at Singleton on September 10.

Mr Hennessy will be committed for sentence in Newcastle District Court on September 5.
