Police have made a significant arrest in relation to a sexual assault investigation spanning several months.
An alleged sexual predator – who can’t be named for legal reasons – was taken to Southport Police Station this afternoon – but was immediately released on bail.
At this stage, police have charged the 26-year-old man with sexual assault, common assault and stealing.
The offences were allegedly committed against a Japanese tourist in Surfers Paradise late last month.
