WW2 MISSILE FOUND AND BLOWN UP AT STOCKTON SAND DUNES

A World War 2 RAAF ordnance has been blown up after it was found in sand dunes at the northern end of Stockton Beach on Sunday.
It’s thought to have been an air to ground missile that was uncovered by recent winds in a remote area of the dunes at Anna Bay.
Police put in place a 1 kilometre exclusion zone before a RAAF Explosive Ordnance unit performed a controlled detonation.
The missile would have originally contained 18 pounds of high explosive material and it was thought to still be active when it was blown up.
