Ballina Council will put pressure on the State Government to continue subsidising the Whooping Cough Vaccine on the Northern Rivers.
The State Government announced earlier this month that it would stop offering pregnant women the free vaccine because the number of reported cases had dropped.
At today’s meeting, council voted unanimously to write to the health minister asking for special consideration.
Mullumbimby has the highest non-vaccination rate amongst young children in the state.
