NURSES TO STRIKE

Nurses will strike outside Wallsend Hospital tomorrow to push for improved nurse-to-patient ratios in state hospitals.
The demonstration is part of action by more than 160 public hospitals and community health services, including 17 Hunter hospitals.
The NSW Nurses and Midwives Association is calling on the government to guarantee nursing ratios in country hospitals and in emergency departments, paediatric wards, critical care areas and community health services.
Member for Wallsend, Sonia Hornery will join the nurses tomorrow, and says the rally is a message to the NSW Minister for Health, Jillian Skinner.
“Support this campaign and… make the positive changes that our healthcare system so desperately needs”.
