ASBESTOS EDUCATORS TRYING TO STOP “RENOVATION ROULETTE”
A purpose-built asbestos awareness van stopped off in Newcastle today as part of a regional tour.
Educators are urging homeowners to stop playing “renovation roulette”, alerting them to dangers of asbestos when upgrading properties.
“It’s designed to show everybody where they’re likely to find asbestos in and around the home and try to educate people about what they can do about it and dangers of it.” said volunteer Geoff Wicks.
The van will head to the Maitland Visitors Centre and Simpson Park in Muswellbrook tomorrow.
