FUNDING FOR COASTAL AND ESTUARY PROJECTS

The Great Lakes and Greater Taree councils have received more than $700,000 in State funding for coastal and estuary projects.

A large portion of the money will go towards the West Swamp wetland project in the Great Lakes and to improving water quality in the Wallamba River.

Meanwhile, more than $27,000 has been allocated for Old Bar Beach to protect and restore the sand dunes caused by coastal erosion.
