TEEN ARRESTED WHILE ALLEGEDLY HOLDING UP CONVENIENCE STORE

A teenager has been apprehended while allegedly committing an armed robbery at a convenience store on the Gold Coast.
Police say the boy entered the store on the Gold Coast Highway in Burleigh at around 6.30pm yesterday, threatening the shop assistant with a torch taser and demanding cash.
Police were attending the store on a routine inquiry and took the boy into custody.
No one was injured during the incident.
A 16-year-old from Tallebudgera Valley, will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
