PROPOSED $6.9 MILLION GUNNEDAH SOLAR FARM KNOCKED BACK

Plans for a $6.9 million solar farm in Gunnedah have been shot down by the Northern Regional Planning Panel.
The Hunts Road proposal was rejected unanimously, over concerns about its proximity to homes and noise impacts.
The 5 megawatt project was also found to clash with Gunnedah Shire Council’s residential development strategy.
It follows more than a dozen submissions to the council, opposing the solar farm over the impact on house and land prices; glare, and a lack of consultation.
