WEEKEND WEATHER UPDATE: WET JUNE

The heaviest rain during June fell in SE QLD yesterday (Thursday the 27th) 78mm at Coolangatta. It has been the wettest June in 6 years for Sydney and there’s plenty more to come.
A deepening trough is feeding off the warm sea surface temperatures producing a thick cloud cover along the coast filled with moisture.
Rain will increase with moderate to heavy falls building over the weekend. A low is expected to form and rain is likely to become heavy and consistent enough to produce flooding for the northern NSW coast.
Inland across the NW lighter falls are expected. Consistent rain periods for the Hunter.
