A 13-year-old Rutherford girl was taken to Maitland hospital after an alleged assault at Rutherford last night.
At about 8pm last night the girl and another unknown teenage girl were arguing at West Mall when she was pushed over and had her head hit to the ground numerous times.
Police and emergency services attended the incident. The girl was treated at hospital for minor injuries including cuts to her head.
Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command are appealing for witnesses.
